North Sentinel Island |
It is home of Sentinelese, an indigenous people in voluntary isolation who have defended, often by force, their protected isolation from the outside world.
They vigorously reject all contact with outsiders. … They live on their own small forested island called North Sentinel, which is approximately the size of Manhattan.
Are They Humans ?
The North Sentinelese are human beings (yes, Homo sapiens) who live on an island and choose not to have contact with people from outside of their island.
… Since North Sentinel Islanders and the rest of the human population never interbreed, they are, in at least one sense of the term, not of the same species.
Can we go to North Sentinel island ?

India has banned its citizens. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Act of 1956 prohibits travel to the island and any approach closer than five nautical miles (9.26 km) in order to prevent the resident tribespeople from contracting diseases to which they have no immunity.
Going within three miles of the island is illegal. The Sentinelese people are known for their violence and unwillingness to communicate with any outsiders.
The area is patrolled by the Indian Navy.

Dr. Madhumala Chattopadhyay was the first woman who became the friend of the Sentinelese tribe of Andamans, She at that time was a research associate with the Anthropological Survey of India. She went to the North Sentinel Island with the support of local administration's ship MV Tarmugli
For years, she pursued her study on them and other such tribes of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and in the process not only did she share an interesting bond with the Sentinelese but even succeeded in communicating with this otherwise non-communicative tribe.
Madhumala now works in the mid-level bureaucracy of a central government ministry in Delhi handling routine government files.
